Code Breakers
Code breakers that would work under buildings in bases like Pearl Harbor would decrypt messages sent between themselves and other Allied Powers. They would need to decrypt the messages in the first place to prevent the Axis Powers from knowing what they were doing.
Cryptanalystys decoding mesages
They also did the parallel of this and tried to decode Axis messages, and on May 19, 1942, they decrypted a message that told of Japan’s plan to attack Midway.
